There’s a beta currently going on for this year’s game, giving us a hands-on feel for the latest changes with the latest FieldSENSE gameplay feature. In spite of the ongoing beta, EA still hasn’t released the official player ratings in Madden 23. The current ratings for players in the beta are merely placeholders.
We expect that EA will release the player ratings for Madden 23 some time this month, possibly from the middle or end of July. Although some have suggested that the player ratings have been leaked, EA insists those are not true.
Everyone knows how much fun it is to debate ratings during Madden annually, which is why I decided in the meantime, while we await the official announcement, I’m going share with you the players I believe will be the best at every position this year. We’ll start with the most important position: quarterback. You can check out the unveiled list of the top quarterbacks in Madden 23 here. But this is the quarterback I believe should be the most highly rated in this year’s game.
Aaron Rodgers was leaked as the second-best quarterback of Madden 23. just behind Patrick Mahomes. Although I can see this happening again this year, I’m not sure that’s how it should be. To me, Aaron Rodgers is the best passing quarterback in the league.
Despite all the controversy surrounding Rodgers at Green Bay, he continues to impress out on the pitch. Last season, he threw 37 touchdowns, which was fourth most in the league. And yet, there were only four interceptions. Brady, Stafford, Herbert, Mahomes and Prescott -the only quarterbacks who had the same amount or more touchdown passesall had interceptions of at least double the number.
In terms of the technical aspect, last season was not the best for Rodgers. In 2020 Rodgers threw an NFL-leading 48 touchdowns and just five interceptions. I don’t know what EA is going to do with Aaron Rodgers. Maybe it’s his constant playoff disappointment. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t run as fast or like Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson. But as an individual his performance is among the best that one available. The time has come to have him rated as the best.
Patrick Mahomes was previously leaked as a 99 overall, and was the sole quarterback to be part of Madden 23’s “99 Club.” I know that many think Patrick Mahomes had a down performance last year, and it could be the case, but that’s based on the own standards have been set by him. Mahomes has revolutionized the quarterback position and, in truth, we’ve been spoiled by his play Mut 23 Coins over the past two seasons.
