St-Michel: They’re kind of similar to WOTLK Gold the natural progression of Garrisons but we’ve put in a ton of work in making them highly effective and integrated into gameplay. Class Order Halls are like bringing the whole thing back to the setting the game, where Horde and Alliance confront the most formidable threat of all time that is the Burning Legion. All classes decide to band together within themselves. It is your job to gather these extremely personal heroes we are familiar with from the mythology and then take them into your fold for help in defeating the danger.
Nervig: We definitely gained lots from Garrisons. For the first few months in Warlords of Draenor Garrisons looked good. However, as many would be able to attest, it became pretty dull sitting by yourself within your Garrison for long periods of time. Classes Order Halls do not work the same. The activities you engage in there are connected to things outside of the Order Hall, and they take you away to complete different things.
Nervig: Correct. Actually, as of this moment, Pandaren and Demon Hunters are able to communicate cross-faction today. When Demon Hunters metamorphosize, they communicate Demonic. So two metamorphosized Demon Hunters can talk to each other. It was just an incidental case that we thought, “Yeah, okay, that makes sense.” And Pandaren have always been an oddity. They have a neutral Pandaren and when they choose Horde or Alliance and forget about the other? So we were like, “Fine, we’re letting this line get crossed. Let Pandaren all speak Pandaren.”
Metamorphosized Demon Hunters will be able to talk to one another regardless of allegiances to Horde or Alliance From what we’ve seen so this far Demon Hunters seem way more mobile than the other class. What was it like to establish those mechanisms?
Barriga: Our game was not designed with any sort of motion system for player-based movements This is why it’s very conservative in that end. A lot of our engineers were required to analyze the gameand how our engine functioned and then make it do the things that action games perform: double jumps, glides and all kinds of almost twitch-based gameplay. We didn’t know for sure it would actually be successful. There was a point when one engineer said “Well, I had everything you wanted, but not the capability to change direction mid-double jump.” I thought, “Okay, well, I guess we can’t win them all.” When I got into it, I played the game, and I’m thinking, “What are you talking about? It actually worked.” It was almost miraculous that we were able to get it all into cheap WOW WOTLK Classic Gold the room.
