The newfound agility that the Demon WOTLK Gold Hunter brings to the MMO could be used to start the class in the initial area, but I discovered this wasn’t a necessity for advancing through the quest line. Save for a few slightly higher ledges and platforms, the familiar terrain meant there wasn’t a huge need to double jump and glide through the first section.
But, gliding and jumping aren’t the only motion-based tools that the Demon Hunter has. The class also offers greater agility during combat. For instance, dashing to deal damage to everything in your path with Fel Rush, or taking an explosive backwards leap to avoid timed enemy attacks using Vengeful Retreat. Metamorphosis could be used to transform into a hulking Demon in a jump up into the air before plunging into the ground and shocking enemies in close proximity. My Demon Hunter was rarely stationary during combat It certainly gave fights a more energetic feel.
While the new tweaks to movement weren’t a must within the game’s beginning area and were merely an addition to the Demon Hunter’s combat skills created a fast-paced feel previously absent from WoW. It was very satisfying to join a mob and then slash through them with Fel Rush or stun them, then kill them with Metamorphosis, and then double-jump and slide away to another group of enemies. I was always in motion, which was a distinct change from the static nature of traditional World of Warcraft combat.
Going outside to explore the Broken Isles didn’t dull the delight of the Demon Hunter’s flexible toolset. Even when it quickly became apparent that the quests in the new continent needed to cater to the movement constraints of various classes, too, my delight with the Demon Hunter’s swift combat style never diminished.
The story focus of Legion shows that Demon Hunters represent a gray area within Azeroth’s Horde Alliance alignment. Demon Hunters have demonic powers and the ability to fight demons through a “fight-fire-with-fire” approach and my character was often treated with disdain and suspicion by NPCs throughout Legion’s story arc. It’s an interesting twist to WoW’s normal good-versus-evil strategy, but it’s also something I’ve not experienced before. Going through Burning Crusade with a Blood Elf helped me become more buy WOTLK Gold accustomed to dealing with prejudice in WoW’s tale.
