Greetings! I am Stefani from travel agency, and I have been helping travelers see Egypt for over 8 years – https://www.bontour.bg/pochivki-egipet. I will share the real facts about holidays in this amazing country come April.
Egypt in April is the exact situation. The weather in places like Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh is about 27-30 degrees C in the daytime-warm enough for a vacation but not boiling at 40 degrees C-plus in July or August. The waters of the Red Sea average about 23-24 degrees C-well above swimming temperatures. In fact, most of my clients swim or at least hang out in that water till all hours without feeling warm!
Makadi Bay is an option for April trips: it has all the beauty but fewer tourists compared to Hurghada. The coral reefs are alive with activity, and visibility is good most times of the year.
On the excursion side, April is stunning for enjoying the treasures of Egypt. You can stroll through the Valley of the Kings without feeling like you’re in an oven! The nightlife scene is hopping now that resorts are prepping for high season-from belly dancing shows to beach parties. The experience of local market shopping becomes fun because of the lack of extreme heat.
If you’re traveling with kids, April is perfect. Most kids’ clubs are in high gear, water parks are fun but not too crowded, and the beaches have just enough other families to forge holiday friendships.
A few insider tips I’ve learned along the way: bring a light jacket for the cooler desert evenings; always carry small Egyptian pounds for tipping; and don’t let the softness of the sun in April deceive you, it’s powerful!
A word of warning-Apirl can see khamsin winds blow for a day or so, kicking up sand and dust. But after having sent hundreds of travelers to Egypt, I’d still say April is one of the best months to spend a holiday in Egypt!
